Martial Arts students by nature have an interest in their personal health and fitness. As many of you already know Progressive Health & Fitness is based at the PMAAI gym on Ingleston Road and many PMAAI students, as well as non-PMAAI students, take advantage of the range of personal training sessions that Junior has to offer.
What some of you might not know is that Progressive Health & Fitness also runs kids classes. The Mini Muscles program currently runs on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at the PMAAI Ingleston Road gym. Mini Muscles also goes to The Montessori Journey on Glenora Street on Monday and Wednesday. On Friday the Mini Muscles program has a class at John Paul College.
The Mini Muscles program is designed specifically for kids to keep them having fun and active within an engaging group environment. Classes are based on basic self-defense techniques and provides children with that first step into the world of Martial Arts and self-defense training while they are having a blast doing so. As they burn-off some of that young energy that kids possess they will be building the foundations of sound Martial Arts and self-defense techniques that will aid them in their training as they grow older, as well as learning the aspects of discipline and respect that is inherent within all Martial Arts training. The kids may think they are just having fun, but what they don’t know is they are also training their balance, timing, and general co-ordination, as well as cultivating a healthy body and mind, a courageous attitude, and respect for oneself and others.
Monday 7th of May is Labour Day in Queensland. The gym will be closed for this public holiday. Again, this is one of the few days during the year that the gym closes. Enjoy your long weekend, and maybe we will see some of you for the Saturday morning classes for some last chance training.
The online shop has returned!
A few items still require a picture and these will be uploaded in due time. Have a browse and see if there is anything you need!
There won’t be any classes held on Anzac Day. This is one of the few times throughout the year that the gym is closed. Stay safe on the roads if you are out and about.
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…
Unlike the diligent and ever-respectful fan pages and the fan page members, for some time now there have been people in the wild-wild-internet pretending to be Guro Dan Inosanto or pretending to be a representative of the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts. It is time for this flattery to graciously come to an end as we now introduce to all of you the official IAMA facebook page.
The Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts now has an official facebook presence at www.facebook.com/InosantoAcademyOfMartialArts
Those of you who exist within the realm of facebook might like to briefly stop-by and take a look. Although a little minimalist at the moment, you can finally have confidence in the postings that will eventuate on this facebook page!
